 Banneker City Little League — 2025 District of Columbia Junior League (14U) Champions
Each summer, Little Leagues from around the world assemble tournament teams made up of standout players from their spring season. In the U.S., these teams compete in District and State tournaments, with the opportunity to advance to regional play and face top teams from across the country.

Ages 13 - 14 — Tuesday, May 5th — Banneker Lower Field; 6:00pm - 8:00pm
Ages 7 - 8 — Saturday, May 9th — Emery Heights Rec Center; 10:30am - 12:00pm

Tournament Dates
DC-1 District 8U Machine-Pitch Tournament:
June 12th — June 14th or June 19th — June 21st
DC-1 District Girls Softball Tournaments (10U, 12U & 14U):
June 19th — July 1st
DC-1 District Baseball Tournaments (10U, 11U, 12U & 14U):
July 17th — July 31st
Commitment Expectations
The Little League Tournament Season is the most competitive level of play offered by Little League and requires a significantly higher level of commitment than the spring or fall seasons.
Players selected for tournament teams should expect:
- Daily practices and training sessions
- A fast-paced, high-development environment
- Weekly games and scrimmages
- A strong emphasis on mental toughness, preparation, discipline, and teamwork
This experience not only accelerates player development but also builds lasting habits around effort, accountability, and preparation.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for a Banneker City tournament team, players must meet all of the following:
- You must reside or attend a school in Banneker City's boundaries or be "grandfathered" in our league
- You must have participated in Banneker City's Spring Season
- You must complete your Tournament Paperwork
Required Tournament Paperwork
- Download and complete the Medical Release Form
- Download and complete the Player Verification Form. Note: The simplest residency proof is the School Enrollment Form
- Show an original copy of your child's birth certificate form. Copies are accepted only upon showing the original birth certificate
Team Selection Process
12-player teams are selected through a balanced voting process:
- League Players (25%)
- League Team Managers (25%)
- League Umpires (25%)
- League Official (25%)
