 2026 Banneker City Opening Day Ceremonies
Led by an electrifying performance from the Ruff Ridaz Performance Percussion Squad, Banneker Park came alive with the powerful rhythm of drums and the joyful sound of kids’ laughter. Games were played at Banneker Upper Field, Emery Heights Rec Center, and Garrison Elementary School, creating an unforgettable day of community and competition.
A huge thank you to our incredible volunteers—your dedication made this day possible. From decorating and prepping our fields, umpiring games, and donating supplies, to grilling hundreds of burgers and hot dogs, to cleaning up and beautifying our parks and helping keep everything running smoothly, your efforts did not go unnoticed.
You are truly special, and we deeply appreciate everything you did to make our 2026 Opening Day Ceremonies such an overwhelming success—and, most importantly, an amazing experience for our kids.
